What’s Behind the Recall?
The issue stems from biodiesel deposits forming on the pump drivetrain roller components, which may cause the high-pressure fuel pump to fail. Affected drivers might notice:
- Extended crank times during startup.
- A “Check Engine Light” (CEL) illuminating.
- Reduced engine power.
- Unusual noise from the engine.
As of now, Ford has not reported any crashes, injuries, or fires related to this issue.
